Unique Postage Grabs Attention

I did a double-take the other day when I pulled an envelope from my mailroom slot at ACTON Marketing. The basic white envelope had a stamp on it. I seldom see stamps on my business mail.

There’s something else odd.

The stamp doesn’t look like any I’ve seen before. What’s that? It says ColorDynamics. That’s the same name I see in the return address.

Now here’s a clue. Printed on the stamp it says “stamps.com.” I’ve heard that name advertised on the radio.

The ColorDynamics 5.25 x 7.25-inch wide envelope uses a photo stamp that any business or individual can create and personalize. (That’s an enlarged image of the stamp you see above.) Upload a personal photo and make your own sheet of 20 stamps.

For marketers, this can be an added advantage that gets your mail noticed and opened. Create a design with your company logo, like ColorDynamics did. Generate postage with a photo connected to your offer. Highlight something in your community. Show a photo of your new president or the new branch you’re opening on a stamp.

Of course, the photo stamps come with a price. You pay for the cost of the postage plus a fee to the online business. There will be an additional charge from your lettershop for applying stamps instead of printing indicia or meters.

But these are genuine U.S. postage and are honored by the Post Office.

So if you’re looking for something to give your special project an added edge, here’s another tool for your marketing kit.

There are a variety of companies that offer a personalized postage service. I’m not endorsing any one in particular. Just sharing the idea.
