Example of Stealth Marketing
Today, rather than wade into a serious topic at a time when our minds are on last-minute chores and the Christmas holiday weekend, here’s an image of a newspaper ad I call an example of Stealth Marketing.
I’m glad this bank ad doesn’t confuse me with a lot of products and offers, but I feel they need to put more effort into a headline.
Okay, obviously, this was unintentional. The newspaper simply made an error by printing the ad’s shell without overlaying the correct copy, but this is the ad as it appeared in the newspaper.
It shows that no matter how much a marketing professional plans, something you have no control over can go wrong.
Here’s hoping we all get whatever we want as a Christmas gift this year…without any mistakes.
